Homecoming at the University of Georgia is a time for students, alumni, and friends of the university to celebrate Georgia spirit and what it means to be a Bulldog. Therefore, the theme of Homecoming is and will continue to be a celebration of UGA and the traditions that make this University special. Organizations competing in the Spirit of Homecoming competition can reference the competition handbook to determine judging categories for the various contests.

The official 2022 Homecoming t-shirt order is now closed. Stay tuned for the release of the 2023 Homecoming t-shirt design.

Anyone with more than sixty credit hours, junior/senior class status, and a GPA above a 3.0 is eligible to be nominated for Homecoming Court. Organizations participating in the Spirit of Homecoming Competition can nominate one of their members to apply for Court. That member would then be able to fill out a Court application on the Involvement Network.

A “spirit car” is a vehicle decorated by an organization and driven through the Parade. A float is a flatbed trailer or truck containing props and/or members of the organization. Spirit cars are a common choice for organizations unable to rent a trailer.

While the penalties aren’t severe, if you nominate for Court and wish to drop out of the competition if your candidate does not make the Court then you will not be able to nominate for Court the following year.

You can apply to be a Homecoming member by filling out our application on the Involvement Network. Applications go live over the summer and close in early fall each year.
