Days of Service
What are Days of Service?
The ELS houses multiple, large days of service within its service programs. Serve UGA sponsors Dawg Day of Service and Interfaith Day of Service each year while Service Squad sponsors a First Year Day of Service. More information on each of these service day opportunities will be announced soon. If you’re looking for on-going service opportunities in the meantime, check out Serve UGA’s Serve Athens initiative.
Dawg Day of Service
Hosted by Serve UGA, Dawg Day of Service is UGA’s largest annual day of community service, providing a great opportunity to work with other students to make a positive impact in the community. See our list of service sites below for this year’s event and sign-up today to volunteer at a local organization in Athens-Clarke County!
Be on the lookout for the fall 2021 dates for our Dawg Days of Service!
Interfaith Day of Service
Interfaith Day of Service breaks down barriers by encouraging collaborative service that facilitates open discussions about the motives, belief systems (secular or faith-based), and backgrounds that drive us to serve. Students will start the day by engaging in thoughtful dialogue with their peers, followed by participating in meaningful service in the Athens area, and wrapping up the event by having a reflection with their peers as a result of their service.
Hosted by Serve UGA, Interfaith Day of Service 2021 will take place on April 10th this year! Please check out Serve UGA’s GivePulse page for more information!
First Year Day of Service
First Year Day of Service is dedicated to first year students at the University of Georgia, in which students celebrate finishing their first year at UGA by engaging in service in the Athens area.
Hosted by Service Squad, First Year Day of Service 2021 will take place on March 20th this year! Please check back on our page at the start of the spring semester for a specific date and more information!
