Homecoming concert FAQ

The Homecoming Concert will feature the Atlanta-based band, Penelope Road. Their genre of music consists of a blend of rock, funk, soul, indie pop, and alternative.

The concert is during UGA’s Homecoming Week on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. The show will start at 8 p.m. and field access will begin at 7 p.m.

The concert will take place at Legion Field at 825 S. Lumpkin St. Athens, GA 30602.

Tickets will be available for free to UGA-Athens Student Activity Fee-paying students at https://ugapac.evenue.net/promotions?promoCd=HOM. Tickets will go live Monday, August 31, 2026, at 11 a.m. Only one student ticket will be issued per valid student ID. No exceptions will be made. 

Once the student claims their ticket, the ticket can be downloaded as a mobile ticket. To gain entry to the concert, each student must present their mobile ticket. The mobile ticket will be scanned. UGA student tickets are non-transferable. 

If you are having trouble claiming your student ticket, make sure you have entered the code with your 81X number correctly in the promo space. Questions may be directed to OneCard Ticketing at tickets@uga.edu.

You do not need to have your UGA OneCard to gain entry. However, if you cannot show your mobile ticket due to unforeseen circumstances, you may show your UGA OneCard. Otherwise, no ticket, no entry.

Re-entry is not permitted for this event. Once your ticket is scanned and you exit the venue area, you cannot return. Please plan accordingly.

Lining up will not be allowed until 6 p.m. If you arrive before that time for the event, you will be asked to leave and return at 6 p.m.

Students who live on campus are encouraged to safely walk to Legion Field or use the UGA Transit Bus service. A map of free after-hours parking is available here. Parking enforcement information is available at https://tps.uga.edu/parking/enforcement/.

Campus Transit will run until 1:00am. Buses arrive roughly every 20 minutes. Real-time tracking is accessible via the UGA App. For more information about routes, visit www.tps.uga.edu.

Absolutely no alcohol or other controlled substances will be allowed. Any persons found with alcohol in their possession will be subject to ejection from the venue.

Non-alcoholic beverages in factory-sealed plastic containers, not exceeding 16 oz., are allowed. Only one beverage per person will be allowed. Unsealed beverages are not permitted.

No concessions or food options will be available on-site, but free bottled water will be available. You may bring one outside non-alcoholic beverage, provided it is in a factory-sealed plastic container, not exceeding 16 oz. No outside food or other beverages are permitted in the event area. Please note that this is a standing-room-only event, so seating space may be very limited or unavailable. Lawn chairs are prohibited and blankets are permitted, if space allows. However, please note that if the venue reaches high capacity, our attendees may be asked to pack blankets away for safety and to ensure there is enough room for everyone to enjoy the event.

Items not allowed inside the venue include, but are not limited to:

  • Alcoholic beverages and illegal drugs
  • Animals (except working service animals) – For ADA accommodations, please contact 706-542-6396 or ugaels@uga.edu
  • All portable, folding, or collapsible chairs
  • Any unsealed beverages
  • Audio or video recording devices, professional cameras, or cameras with removable lenses
  • Bicycles
  • Book bags, backpacks, purses
  • Bullhorns, megaphones, or noisemakers
  • Coolers
  • Glass bottles or aluminum/steel cans
  • Laser pointers
  • Tripods or selfie sticks/poles
  • Umbrellas
  • Flags, banners, or posters/signs
  • Lawn chairs

To help expedite entry and maintain a safe environment, the UGA Clear Bag Policy will be enforced at the concert. Each guest may bring one approved clear bag and one small clutch. All bags are subject to security inspection.

Approved bags include:

  • Clear tote: Plastic, vinyl, or PVC; no larger than 12″ × 6″ × 12″.
  • Clear gallon-size bag: 1-gallon resealable clear plastic bag.
  • Small clutch: No larger than 4.5″ × 6.5″, with or without a handle or strap.

Not permitted:

  • Backpacks
  • Large purses
  • Duffel bags
  • Fanny packs
  • Drawstring bags
  • Non-clear or patterned bags

Each guest may bring one approved clear bag and one small clutch. The small clutch must be carried separately from the clear bag and is subject to search.

The concert starts at 8 p.m. and will end no later than 9:30 p.m. Field access will be available at 7 p.m.

Yes. Portable restrooms will be available inside the within concert area. Please note that re-entry will not be permitted if you leave the concert area to find a restroom in nearby campus buildings.

The Homecoming Concert is held rain or shine and will only be canceled in the event of severe weather and/or unsafe conditions. Any changes to the event will be communicated to ticket holders directly.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will be on site during the event to assist with medical needs.
